Welcome back to Down the TBR Hole, a meme created by Lia over at Lost in a Story to help us reclaim some bit of control over our to-read lists.
The rules work like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
However, I’m twisting the last rule slightly because all books I am showing have been deleted and taken off my tbr.
I have 10 to show you so let’s get started:
I am not being completely crazy and deleting what is probably one of my favourite sci-fi series at the moment but I want to have them on my tbr as individual books instead of them all being clumped together in one compendium.
This is one of those cases where I will get to it later. I have every intention of reading this but not at this very moment.
I do want to read it, and I think I have it on my kindle, but with the way things are I just don’t have the time to throw myself into a fantasy like this.
Another Neil Gaiman book that is passing me by at the moment. To appreciate this I’d need a physical copy and since I don’t currently own one, it will be a while before I probably pick this up.
This is one of those books I will read eventually but not right now.
It pains me to get rid of this book considering I am a huge fan of VE Schwab and her books, but I can’t get a copy that is readily available in the UK. When I looked on Amazon, they’re all dispatched from the US and I can’t be doing with that. It’s also not available as an ebook which sucks. It’s a huge shame because I liked what I heard about it.
Another French book that I don’t own and probably won’t get to be reading for a while. I think I really need to be in the mood to read a book in a foreign language and even then, it will probably be one I already have or know.
I read the first book in this trilogy a couple of years ago but failed to read the rest despite having loved it. The love triangle was completely unnecessary but the story was interesting and unlike any other witch books I’d read before. Nonetheless I don’t know if I’m that bothered anymore to carry on with the trilogy.
I have every intention of reading this but it is being ditched until I finally pick up Passenger which is still waiting on my shelf.
For a book that sounded intriguing, it is no longer one I feel bothered to read. Also, I know this is going to sound superficial but the cover is now creeping me out and I don’t want to read something that looks that creepy.
And that is it.
Have you read any of these books?
What were your thoughts?
Thanks for reading and have a good day!
